Thinking about purchasing a new hair curler? I was recently in the same boat and was determined to pick the perfect product, so I was more than excited when I discovered HerStyler. This brand produces a range of heated styling tools and hair care products, with their selection of hair curlers being truly impressive. Since my go-to hair salon uses HerStyler curlers, I was able to try out each model on my own mane before I ended up buying two for myself (I couldn’t choose between them!). Here are my thoughts on each of the curlers in the HerStyler range:

The Baby Curls Line

Let’s start with the HerStyler Baby Curls curlers – available in both pink and purple. If you have short hair or bangs, this is the curler for you. Its 9/18mm barrel is ideal for curling short strands and the fact that it’s tapered means that you’ll enjoy a much more natural-looking finish.

This is a curling wand rather than a curling iron, meaning that it doesn’t have a clip to clamp your hair in place. If you’ve never used hair curlers before, you’ll need to practice your technique. However, it’s pretty easy to get the hang of!

You’ll notice that this curling wand has a Teflon-coated barrel. Teflon is becoming increasingly popular in the hair world due to its incredible smoothness. You won’t have to worry about any strands catching or snagging on the barrel while you’re working, giving your hair a smoother finish.

This is enhanced by the negative ion technology that HerStyler has incorporated into these curling wands. This is another feature that more and more hair brands are making use of. It essentially cancels out the positive ions in your hair. The result is curls that look smoother and sleeker rather than frizzy and rough.

The Grande Curls Line

Grande Curls Pink

The HerStyler Grande Curls line of hair curlers is quite similar to the Baby Curls line. The main difference is barrel size. While the Baby Curls tools were designed for shorter strands, the Grande Curls curlers feature an 18/25mm barrel. You’ll likely find this barrel to be too large if you have short hair but for everyone else with more length or thickness, this barrel is perfect.

Again, this curler is available in two colors – pink and purple. It heats up to 400°F, which is once again ideal for thicker hair. You’ll be able to curl your locks quickly and effortlessly, but without having to worry about contributing to the appearance of heat damage.

It’s also worth mentioning that these curlers have a dual-voltage feature. If you’re a frequent traveler, you’ll know what a godsend this can be! You’ll be able to use this curler in different parts of the world, ensuring that your hair always looks on point!

The Beach Curler

Herstyler beach curler

The HerStyler Beach Curler is one of the curlers that I ended up purchasing for myself. Unlike the others in the HerStyler range, this one is a curling iron rather than a curling wand. It features a spring clip that holds each section of hair in place while you work with it. If you’re a curling newbie, this would be a good tool to start with as the clip makes it a little easier to use.

What I love about this curler is its unique design. It features a two-in-one barrel, meaning that you can create two different curl sizes with one tool. The 19mm section gives you tighter and smaller curls while the 32mm will leave you with larger and looser waves.

This curling iron boasts a ceramic-coated barrel. Ceramic is the material of choice if your hair is showing signs of damage. Ceramic is known for being ultra-gentle. It distributes heat evenly, preventing hot spots that could burn your delicate strands.

My only initial concern regarding this curler was its maximum temperature of 356°F. I was worried that this wouldn’t be hot enough for my super-thick hair. Interestingly, I was very wrong. It manages to do a beautiful job of curling my locks and, better yet, it does so quickly, leaving me beachy waves that any professional hairstylist would be proud of!

The Rose Gold Titanium 3P Curler

Rose Gold Titanium 3P Curler

Now onto my favorite HerStyler curler; the Rose Gold Titanium 3P Curler. This one instantly appealed to me for a few reasons, with the interchangeable barrels being one. There are three to choose from; 9/18mm, 18/25mm, and 25/25mm. As you can imagine, this gives the curler incredible versatility. You can create such a huge array of curls with this one tool, from tight ringlets to bouncy Old Hollywood waves.

The three barrels that come with this curling wand are made from titanium. This is a material that professional stylists tend to prefer, particularly when working with thick hair. It’s highly durable and heats up quickly, before easily holding that heat for long periods of time.

Worried about the titanium burning your fragile strands? Don’t be – this curler comes with two temperature settings. You’ll be able to adjust this based on the needs of your hair, saving your strands from any unnecessary damage.

Again, just like the other HerStyler curlers, this one also comes with negative ion technology. Thanks to this, any curls that you create will look flawlessly sleek and defined.

Which HerStyler Curler is Right For You?

Although I was fortunate enough to try out all four curlers before making my purchase, not everyone will have this opportunity, so, hopefully, this review will help! For short hair, the Baby Curls curlers would be a no-brainer, whereas those with long and thick hair have a few more options. If, like me, you’re having a tough time picking one, the 3P curler with its interchangeable barrels will give you the best of all worlds!

Don’t forget that HerStyler also sells its own range of hair care products, straighteners, and other hair essentials. Check out the brand’s online shop by clicking here!
