Lavelier is a skincare brand that I’ve used and loved in the past, so I was immediately excited when I saw that the brand had launched a new collection. The Lavelier Oceana Collection consists of seven skincare staples – products that promise to be daily go-to’s. I couldn’t resist going all out and ordering them all – here are my thoughts, both good and bad, on each one:
The Oceana Breezy Facial Cleanser
Every skincare expert will advise that a cleanser should always be picked based on your skin type. So, it was refreshing to see that the Lavelier Oceana Collection contained two cleansers; one for oily skin and one for dry/sensitive skin. With my skin type being combination, I was able to give both of them a fair test!
The Oceana Breezy Facial Cleanser is the gentler of the two Lavelier Oceana cleansers. I use it when my skin is feeling dry and it always leaves me with a softer and smoother complexion. Its coconut-derived surfactants cleanse without irritating while the plant oils in the formula leave the skin feeling as though it has just been moisturized.
The Oceana Pore Perfection Polish
The Lavelier Oceana Pore Perfection Polish is a foaming cleanser. These cleansers are usually recommended for those with oily skin. They create a bigger lather, enabling them to remove more grease.
I’m not usually a fan of foaming cleansers because they tend to contain sulfates. These surfactants are ultra-harsh. They work well to start with but damage the skin over time, which I’ve personally experienced.
So, I was delighted to see that this foaming cleanser is sulfate-free. It also contains a number of other skin-loving ingredients, from peptides to botanical extracts, to keep the skin feeling calm and soothed while the cleansing agents work their magic.
The Oceana VitaGlow C Serum
Finding a good vitamin C serum can be a game-changer for your skin. This one ingredient has the capacity to truly transform the complexion. However, in order for this to happen, it needs to be formulated in a certain way and combined with the right ingredients.
The good news is that this is exactly what Lavelier has done with the Oceana VitaGlow C Serum, creating a skincare superstar as a result.
This vitamin C serum is, without a doubt, the best I’ve used. What makes it so good? To start with, how it immediately leaves my skin looking plumper and brighter. It gives my skin a fresh and almost dewy finish while keeping any oily areas looking matte. The fact that it contains two forms of vitamin C, as well as vitamin A, vitamin E, and a long list of antioxidants, is a bonus!
The Oceana Wrinkle Reset EyeLift Serum
It’s never fun to see the first lines appear around your eyes. This usually leaves people scrambling for products that can smooth away the look of those creases ASAP.
Well, you’ve now found the only one you’ll need; Lavelier’s Oceana Wrinkle Reset EyeLift Serum. This serum has worked wonders on the skin around my eyes. My creases were more fine lines rather than deep-set wrinkles but, either way, you can’t really see them anymore!
Take a look at this serum’s ingredient list and you’ll understand why it has the effect that it does. It’s full of some of the most talked-about ingredients around, including peptides, sodium hyaluronate, green tea, licorice root, and vitamin C.
The Oceana Dark Circle Radiance Cream
If you ever get dark circles around your eyes, you’ll love the Oceana Dark Circle Radiance Cream – I certainly did! This cream promises to quickly lighten the look of dark circles and brighten the appearance of the overall eye area, both of which it accomplished beautifully.
There are several standout ingredients in this eye cream. Caffeine, vitamin C, resveratrol, and vitamin A are just a few on the list. They’re combined with coral seaweed extract – Lavelier’s signature ingredient. In addition to deeply hydrating the complexion, this ingredient leaves the skin looking smoother, fuller, and more volumized.
The Oceana Skin Dew Moisturizer
It’s not easy to find a good moisturizer for combination skin. You need a formula that’s lightweight enough to save from clogging the pores on the oily areas of your face while still rich enough to moisturize the dry parts of your skin.
Surprisingly, this is something that the Oceana Skin Dew Moisturizer excels at. Lavelier states that this cream is suitable for all skin types but, let’s be honest, many brands say that even when it isn’t true. This time, however, I can personally attest to the versatility of this cream.
What’s in it? A number of lightweight moisturizing ingredients, including vitamin E, oat extract, and shea butter. It’s also filled with antioxidant-rich botanicals, such as gotu kola extract, grape seed oil, and coral seaweed extract.
The Oceana Refining Coral Peel
Unlike the other products in the Lavelier Oceana Collection, the Oceana Refining Coral Peel shouldn’t be used daily. Instead, being an exfoliator, you’ll need to tailor your frequency of use to your skin type.
For my combination skin, twice-weekly exfoliation is usually sufficient, which is what I did with this product. After my first use, I was already impressed. My skin felt unbelievably smooth and soft! I’ve been using it for a couple of months now and this hasn’t changed.
Interestingly, this product functions as both a physical and a chemical exfoliator. Thanks to a blend of walnut shell powder, bamboo powder, and mandelic acid, it’s able to exfoliate the complexion on multiple levels, providing a perfectly polished finish.
Is the Lavelier Oceana Collection Worth Trying?
Not only is the Lavelier Oceana Collection 100% worth trying, but these products are formulas that have long-term staying power in any skincare routine. With high-performance ingredients and advanced ingredient blends, it’s hardly surprising that each product easily delivers on the promises that it makes.
