I’ve recently seen a number of skincare reviews and social media posts raving about Lionesse skincare. The testimonials are almost unbelievable. People have experienced everything from a newly wrinkle-free complexion to a reduction in the appearance of acne – all from using Lionesse products.
Of course, I was skeptical about how genuine these reviews were, so I decided to take it upon myself to find out more about Lionesse. I treated myself to some of the brand’s bestselling products so that I could scrutinize them to my heart’s content to see whether or not they really provide such impressive results.
The White Pearl Facial Cleanser
I was initially unsure about whether or not to buy the White Pearl Facial Cleanser, simply because I already have a cleansing balm that I absolutely love. However, I went with it, and I’m so glad that I did!
This cleanser is unlike the majority of other cleansers out there, for a few reasons. Firstly, it’s a sulfate-free formula. Instead of cleansing the skin with those harsh, drying compounds, it makes use of surfactants that come from coconuts. They’re just as effective as the other cleansers that I’ve used, even when I’m wearing makeup. They also work to condition the skin at the same time.
This cleanser also stands out because of the multiple hydrating ingredients that have been included in the formula. Between moringa seed oil, argan oil, and aloe vera extract, the ingredient list reads more like a serum or a cream than a cleanser. You can definitely feel the difference when using it too. My dry skin often feels tight and uncomfortable after cleansing but this cleanser has the opposite effect. It leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth to the touch.
The Amber Eye Serum
Each of Lionesse’s skincare collections are centered around a specific gemstone. The Amber Eye Serum is in the brand’s Amber Collection, which, as you can tell from its name, features amber powder.
Amber is revered for how it regenerates and brightens the complexion, and this eye serum certainly does that. I’ve been noticing that the skin around my eyes has been looking dull and tired, with the light fine lines that I have in that area becoming noticeably deeper over the past couple of years. Other eye serums have failed to make a difference. However, this one has given my skin a significantly smoother and firmer finish.
While I’m sure that the amber helps with this, there are plenty of other proven ingredients within this serum. Ascorbic acid, which is the purest form of vitamin C, makes an appearance. It’s joined by sodium hyaluronate, peptides, and multiple botanical extracts. These are all ingredients that are highly recommended by dermatologists for use around the eyes. They’re fantastic for the delicate skin in this area and, as I have witnessed, they do an incredible job of plumping and tightening the look of the skin.
The Opal Sheer Melting Mask
As I mentioned, my skin type is dry. This is why I often give it a boost with a weekly face mask. However, the effects of each masking session only last a couple of hours before my skin turns dry once again.
The fact that the Lionesse Opal Sheer Melting Mask kept my skin looking dewy and supple for a couple of days was the first thing that stood out to me about this product. I wasn’t expecting it, and it took me a few weeks to realize that the glow that I seemed to sport each weekend was down to my Friday night face mask.
A quick glance at the ingredient list immediately explains the intense effects of this mask. It’s packed with superfruit extracts, from Maqui and mangosteen to bilberry and goji, plus so many more! It also contains avocado oil, squalane, and vitamin E, all of which are known for their moisturizing effects. These are balanced by several lightweight hydrating ingredients, including sodium hyaluronate and aloe vera.
Of course, let’s not forget that this is a leave-on mask, immediately making it more convenient to use. While I suspect that it may be a little too rich for those with oily, acne-prone skin, it truly is a superstar if your skin is on the dry side.
The Golden Sapphire Cream
Having dry skin means that I’m already well-stocked in rich moisturizers. They’re great for parched skin but they can often be a little too greasy for makeup to be layered on.
The Lionesse Golden Sapphire Cream seemed like a lighter formula, so I chose this one over the other Lionesse moisturizers that were available.
I ended up hooked on this cream after my very first use. It’s extremely hydrating – it does a better job of hydrating my skin than my thicker creams too. It leaves my skin feeling surprisingly silky, without any sort of residue on the surface.
In terms of attempting to apply makeup over the top, I definitely made the right choice with this cream! It gives me such a smooth base to apply makeup to. I don’t even need to use a primer if I’ve used this moisturizer!
The fact that this cream has also left my skin feeling firmer and more elastic cemented it as a mainstay in my skincare routine. It’s brimming with ingredients tailored to counter the look of aging. Vitamins, botanicals, and peptides come together to plump away the appearance of fine lines and brighten the look of the skin. Sapphire powder is included in this moisturizer too. This is a gemstone ingredient that soothes the feeling of inflammation and gives the skin a glow.
Final Thoughts on Lionesse Skincare
Skincare brands are often hyped up to the point where people are left disappointed after they’ve actually used those products. This definitely wasn’t the case with Lionesse. Although I was doubtful about the ability of these products at first, they’ve surpassed so many of my other skincare go-to’s, providing noticeable results in a way that other products haven’t been able to do.
